Healthcare Billing at Scale

Overview

MagendaMD came to Mobius in 2022 with a request to build a healthcare SaaS platform for clinics across New York. Alongside the clinical side of the product, the platform needed integrated insurance billing with connections to clearinghouses and insurance payers. We delivered the first production release in 2024 and have continued working with the team since then to support growth and expand the platform.

Challenge

The scope combined two areas where details matter:

• A workflow-heavy healthcare product that staff can use every day without friction
• A billing subsystem where correctness, traceability, and integration stability are essential

MagendaMD needed a partner who could take ownership end-to-end: discovery, design, implementation, infrastructure, security checks, and reliable releases over time.

Discovery and planning

We started with discovery to turn the idea into an executable plan:

• Calls with stakeholders to map real workflows and identify edge cases early
• Competitor research to understand what clinics already use and what gaps remain
• A roadmap broken into releases, with a backlog ready for sprint delivery

This gave everyone a shared view of priorities and made delivery predictable.

How we worked

Mobius provided a full-cycle team and ran the project in sprints:

• Planning each sprint with clear goals and acceptance criteria
• Delivering in modules, so functionality could be tested and approved in pieces
• QA included in the delivery flow, with regression testing before releases
• Regular demos to keep decisions fast and aligned

After the initial release, we stayed involved in post-production mode:

• Monitoring live behavior, addressing issues quickly, and keeping releases controlled
• Iterating based on user feedback and operational needs as adoption increased

Results

• Released in 2024 after roughly two years of development
• By the end of 2025, it became a top-5 system used in New York by healthcare providers
• Ongoing work (2022–today) to expand features, improve stability, and support scaling
