Speed, stability, and cost optimization for a social media marketing platform on AWS

Overview

Socialbooster is a social media oriented marketing platform built to help businesses and individuals improve engagement through automated campaign management.  Mobius joined the project with a dedicated engineering team and DevOps support to run a technical audit and improve performance, reliability, and cloud efficiency on AWS.

Challenge

The client was dealing with a platform that felt slow and unstable, with frequent bugs and poor user experience. At the same time, the AWS bill was growing without delivering real performance gains, which made scaling risky and expensive. The client needed clear answers fast, what was causing the bottlenecks, what to fix first, and how to improve speed without a full rebuild.

Discovery and plan

We started with a technical audit of the source code, infrastructure, and the way the application handled key user flows. Socialbooster was built with Laravel and modern web technologies, and ran on AWS.  We documented the performance hotspots, stability risks, and the main infrastructure cost drivers, then presented a focused optimization plan that fit a six month contract and prioritized changes with measurable impact.

How we worked

We set up a dedicated team and delivered improvements in sprints. Each sprint included implementation, testing, and a controlled release so production stayed stable while changes rolled out. DevOps work ran in parallel to engineering, which allowed us to improve infrastructure and deployment routines while the product team fixed bottlenecks and reduced bugs.

Solution delivered

On the product side, we improved the platform’s speed and stability by addressing bottlenecks in the most used flows and tightening quality across releases. On the infrastructure side, we introduced targeted cloud and architectural adjustments that reduced unnecessary AWS resource usage and improved efficiency. We also integrated multiple payment systems to support the platform’s monetization and make conversion smoother for new users.

Results
